SIGMUND FREUD

Sigmund Freud was born on 6 May in 1856 in Freiberg from Moravia. Families who live in Moravia is usually poor like Freud's family. His father is a wool merchant, moved to Vienna with his family while Freud was four years old. Almost Freud lived the majority of his life in this city until Nazis invaded Austria. He was exposed to violent hostilities intended for Jewish, in Vienna but this city was real dorm that he achieve world fame.

He knew French, English, Spanish, Italian, Latin and Greek. Also he graduated from Vienna University, Medical Department. After graduation, he continued to study in his teacher Ernst Brucke's physiology laboratory. After that, he started as a doctor in Vienna General Hospital. After three years, he won five-month scholorship for work with famous medicine man Jen-Martin Charcotile. This experience was the beginning of his clinical life.

He had a happy marriage after like four years engagement period and had three son, three daughter. His youngest daughter Anna Freud (1895-1982) followed her father's way. As well as she became a famous child psychoanalyst and leader of psychoanalytic movement.

He wanted to be famous and discover since his youth years and he attempted several studies about this topic but he failed. One from his several studies wasis article about cocaine. He believed to cocaine was harmless and an effective medicine and even was recommending his friends and fiance but his studies and himself was exposed to serious criticism according to research döne about cocaine.

He waged several studies with Josef Breuer. These studies and gained experience because of his patients contributed for emerging psychoanalysis and free association method.

He lived a serious neurosis and buried in a professional, personal loneliness. In these periods, he analyzed his dreams and inner world. Evren, he published a book called "The Interpretation of Dreams" in these period. After that, he published three other important books: Psychology of Daily Life, Three Attempts on Sexuality, Relations with Joke and Unconscious. In these periods, he won fame and prestige slowly and had work mates.

Psychologists have described and observed "behaviour" before Freud but Freud wanted to analyze it and explain detail. After, he established a new psychology system. It's Psychoanalysis. It's basis of various theropies used for treatment of psychological problems. It offers theories about human personality and how it developed. Also it examines human relationship and functioning of society.

He had 33 operations because of jaw cancer since 1923. He used nothing except a few aspirin although he suffered. He continued to smoke cigars this period. He was smoking 20 Cuban cigars. He wanted high dose morphine for suffered a lot in the last days of his life. The doctor askedto Anna and gave morphine to Freud. He said goodbye to his life on September 23, 1939. His body was burned because of his will. His ashes was placed to a from his favorite Greek vases.
